Great Things Noticed:

Tim and I spent a lot of time learning about what your successes and areas of improvement are in your classrooms.  We would like to thank you for sharing not only the successes with us, but those areas you are trying to work on and improve.  Because of those meetings we did not have a chance to make it into as many classrooms as much as we usually do.

Check out 7th Grade Myth Busters:

Science blog Pete Morris was able to have students work to help him create his monthly Newsletter for parents.

Tuesday - "We are all different"  Show off our unique differences by wearing two different socks.

Wednesday - Byram Pride - Wear your Byram Big Event Shirt.

Thursday - Put a Cap on Name Calling - Hat Day - all students are invited to wear a hat for the day.

Friday - Team Sport's Day - We are all good sports if we treat each other like we are on the same team. And the TNT game!!!  Please stay after to support our staff and the team, make sure you have a note/permission slip.

There will be NO Advisory on Tuesday, January 26th due to the 8th grade CAP Schedule - so Tuesday will be a regular day -

Please help us with the following during your ID classes next week:

Monday - Notes to the BLES teachers, staff, etc.  In Interdisciplinary class, please ask each student to write a note to a teacher in the other building - to thank them for all they did for them.  The students should focus on a skill, a moment, an activity that this person helped them with.  These gratitude notes can be in any form - a letter, a poem, a card, etc.  The more creative the better!  Have a student that didn't attend BLES - have them write their gratitude note to someone in this building.  Remind students to think of all the people that make our schools run - teachers, administrators, aides, custodial staff, secretaries, etc!  When the notes are done, please put them in my mailbox or send to my room - 112.

Tuesday - Positive Post-It Notes (post-its will be in your mailbox)- during ID class please have student write a positive note to at least one classmate - the note should have the student's name on it and something Positive about that person.  Once they have written the note, they should go post-it on that person's locker - students are welcome to write notes to more than one student.  Please feel free to write your own notes as well to students that make a positive impact in our schools!

Wednesday  - Bricks of Kindness - each student will be given a paper "brick" - have them use a dark colored marker and on their brick they should write one way that all of us can work together to make the World a Kinder Place - please send these bricks to the office when done - and they will go on the entrance bulletin board by the week's end.

Staff RAOK - next week we are asking all staff who are interested to participate in a RAOK - Random Acts of Kindness week - in the office will be RAOK slips - pick one or two or more cards up and do an act of kindness for another person(teacher, custodian, secretary, aide, CST, etc) in the building - write them a note, give them a pack of gum, a can of soup and tell them they are a "Soup"er teacher, smiley face stickers "Happiest Teacher', a dunkin gift card, a lottery card, bubbles " for a bubbly personality", a bag of nuts "for someone who is nutty" or anything else to make their day:)  Have fun and let's spread kindness to each other!

Friday - Wear Red  Friday - please wear RED as well as your Team Wear - Red Team Wear is even better!!!

Big thank you to Misty and Deb for putting this together!

The Rammy -

Part 1 - Students who have over 100 AR points have created a 'Best Book' award called, The Rammy.  This award will be given out to the book that runs the gauntlet of March Madness.  We will need to create a list of 64 book titles and the create match ups similar to the NCAA.  Please use this form for students to enter their favorite book this week.  Students can submit as many book titles as they like, as many times as they like to nominate a book.  We are asking you to introduce this during ID at some point this week.  Submissions will not be taken next week, the students will have until Sunday night to vote.

Part 2 - We are looking for original art work from the students to be image of, The Rammy.  Students may create a piece of art work that encourages reading and our mascot, the Ram.  This submission needs to completed by Monday, February 1st and the winner will have a guest appearance on the BNN.

Tech Tip:

Do you remember making a mixed tape back in the 80's?  If you do Dragontape will make a lot of sense to you.  You can cut and connect several different videos on Youtube into one 'Mixed Tape'.
